Acquired industrial gases manufacturer Tri-Gas, lnc., in the United States (merged with Matheson in 1999 to create Matheson Tri-Gas, lnc.)

Merger agreement signed by Taiyo Sanso and Toyo Sanso : in 1995 commenced operations under the Taiyo Toyo Sanso name

Established industrial gases manufacturing and marketing company Shanghai Nippon Sanso Gas Co., Ud. (currently Shanghai Taiyo Nippon Sanso Gas Co., Ud.), in China.
